« Tal vez », « Quizá(s) », « Puede ser »/« Puede que », « A lo mejor », « De pronto », « Igual (y) », « Chance y », « Capaz   (que)» ,  De repente » All of these essentially mean the same thing - maybe , but here are some observations for each: « Tal vez » is your standard way to say maybe, and it's used in all parts of the Spanish speaking world. The one-word version, «talvez», is not incorrect, but not as common as the two-word version. Most natives think the only correct form is «tal vez». Tal vez no sepan que me encantan los espárrago s . « Quizá(s) » is also used in all countries and just bit more formal than «tal vez». People tend to use «quizá» before a word starting with a consonant ( quizá para ella significa/signifique mucho ) , and «quizás» with words starting with a vowel ( quizás a mí no interesa/interese much o ), but this is certainly not a rule. El choro lingüístico del día (de hecho lo redacté anoche, pero como no tenía conexión me lo envié por e-mail, díganme ñoño si quieren jajaja) es nuevamente otra queja contra, lo que me gusta llamar, prescriptivismo ciego. Es decir, hablando de idiomas, cuando alguien te dice que algo se tiene que decir de cierta forma u otra porque ES LO CORRECTO. Y ese “ES LO CORRECTO” muchas veces se basa en lo que les enseñaron a ellos en la escuela (la gente mayor generalmente), sin tomar en cuenta que, de hecho, existen cambios en los idiomas, existen préstamos que no siempre llenan un espacio en el idioma receptor. A veces no solo se recibe una palabra nueva porque no existe en la lengua original. Hay factores como el prestigio del idioma del cual se toma la palabra o simplemente se ha vuelto común en otros idiomas también y es un tipo de influencia, lo cual no tiene absolutamente nada de nada, pues ningún idioma es puro. ¿Oyeron? ¡NINGUNO!
